Tournament Day in a Medieval Town

Open to the Public -- As a new day begins, our town awakes to its daily barrage of life in the streets. Artisans and vendors ready their displays for the townspeople, competitors and tourney-goers. From miles away, visitors flock to see what the day’s festivities will bring. As the day unfolds, all can discover treasures for the eyes, ears and palate. Some visitors bring business; some come to watch and cheer! Everyone has a wonderful time!

Great for newcomers, this event focuses on activities that might have occurred in a small medieval town on tournament day. Townspeople and visitors share the sights, sounds and smells during a typical day. It costs nothing to look, aka, there is no admission fee.

Admission: $0       Feast: $7/person, max feast = 80*

Come and behold the wonders of the tournament day! Need help with what to wear? We can help! Contact the Gold Key. Gold Key

*As customary for this event, feasts spots may be sponsored for newcomers so they can fully enjoy the day. Sponsors are welcome to pay for one more feast spot than they need to contribute.

Artisans, Activities, Merchants & Court

Many artisans teach their craft; many sell their creations. Here is the chance to step back to a simpler time when hands did most of the skilled work. This is your chance to watch, ask questions, learn and explore the current Middle Ages.

Artisans

Visit the local artisans for a sampling of medieval workmanship. These artists enjoy learning more about their craft as well as teaching it to others. Some hands-on workshops will be held.

There will be a Fiber Solar.

Activities

Watch the tournaments. Meet the artisans. Shop. Try a dance or two. There is much to see and do! Check the schedule for the day's activities.

Merchants

As with all towns, especially on tourney days, merchants are on the streets providing many things a townsperson or traveler might need.

SPECIAL EVENT FOR MEMBERS: There will also be a Smith's Exchange for those interested. The Smith's Exchange is a Donate/Buy/Trade-up activity. Loosely based on Heather Dale's Smith's Song, this is a chance to share in the bartering experience. (link to more info)

Court

The Baronage of Sacred Stone will conduct court at 4:30 p.m., following all the tournaments. All visiting dignitaries are asked to confirm their attendance in advance, if possible.
